Easy to get started

I tried the free cloud tier for a small project. The Chatbot Builder was simple to use. Got my basic bot working quickly. Good for testing ideas.

Good value for self-hosting

I was looking for a cost-effective way to build out an AI agent for a side project and Dify's Self-Hosted Community Edition caught my eye. The open-source model meant I didn't have to pay anything upfront, which was a huge plus for my budget. Setup was straightforward enough, though it took me a couple of hours to get everything just right on my server. For what I got – a full LLM Application Development Platform – the value was really there. I didn't need to worry about subscription costs or limits for my testing. It felt like a smart purchase, even if it was technically free.

Amazing workflow builder!

I used the Cloud Managed Service and it was fantastic! The Agentic Workflow Builder is super intuitive, I had a working chatbot prototype up and running in no time. I was worried about integrating different LLMs, but Dify's Multi-Model Support made it so easy. The Prompt IDE was also a joy to use, really helped me fine-tune my prompts. I will definitely be using Dify again for future projects and have already told my dev team about it. It just works!

Anyone know if Dify has better performance or features than LangChain? I'm using LangChain right now but getting a bit frustrated with some of the setup. Is Dify an easier switch?

I moved from LangChain to Dify a few months ago and found the UI way more intuitive for building workflows. LangChain felt a bit more code-heavy for what I wanted to do.

It really depends on what you're building. Dify is great for visually orchestrating stuff and RAG, super user-friendly. LangChain is more code-first, so if you like that low-level control, it might be better. For quick dev, Dify probably wins.

Thinking of trying Dify for a small project. The cloud version looks easy to start but I'm wondering if there's a free trial before I commit to a paid plan? Don't want to just dive in.

T Todd 2 months ago
Yeah, they have a pretty generous free tier for the cloud version. You can build quite a bit before you hit any limits. It's not a timed trial, more like a usage-based free account.

Totally. I've been using the free tier for a couple months for testing stuff. You'd only need to pay if you start scaling up or need super advanced features. For just getting started, you're good.
